HOWTO resize available HD for linux-on-VM

Another headache: when you set out to ‘try out’ a *nix system on a windows VM and realize later that it’s become your primary system, running on a meagre disk space.

After the usual warning that your whole VM-run system may be gone if anything untowards happens, here it goes:

This is one of those instructions that actually worked for me. Use GParted ISO to boot into the VM.
